Hello Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
My name is Paul Khiet Tran. I grew up in the small city of Hue, Vietnam, on a small farm. My family worked hard to be able to barely sustain themselves each day. They longed for something more, for any small chance to improve our condition. It was through the help of other people that we were able to move beyond sustenance farming to eventually be where we are today. There are many families like my family, just needing a chance to improve their basic condition. Because of this, I founded the non-profit "One Hope, One Future." One Hope, One Future was founded on 15 January 2021 to plant the seeds of ingenuity and prosperity into the lives of the poor, allowing us to be an agent of hope in their lives. We recognize that by ourselves, we can do very little, but with the help of the Holy Spirit, and the coming together as a community of hope, we can generate large and effective change through small acts of generosity and love. We follow in the footsteps of Saints Francis of Assisi and Mother Theresa, committing ourselves through identity and service to be agents of hope to others.
It doesn't take much to provide hope or to be an agent of change. Hope is like an egg that hatches to become a life-giving chicken, or a seed planted to become a fruit-bearing tree. In our work, our gifts of hope are often those literal things. We do not seek to be agents of charity that continue a chain of reliance on outside assistance, but agents of hope that provide people with the means to begin to provide for themselves and then others.
One major way of hope is planting the seed of knowledge and skill, and so we will also be helping students by funding their education, which will allow them to find jobs with greater ease, provide their families with steady work, and be agents of development in their own countries.
This is a difficult task for one person to accomplish, but together, as a community of hope, we can effect great change with only a small commitment. Together, we can change the world. With a small help from each of us, we will be able to do bigger things.
The message of Christ comes alive with our actions, not with our belief alone. Let's work together to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world with our action. Let us be the light in times of darkness. "They will know that I am His through what I do and what I say."
